I’m also interested in the Nexus 7 and getting a foot in the Android space. Pretty solid tablet hardware wise. Though the largest flaw as Ars Technica pointed out is that the Android app market is very deficient on actual tablet apps. There are very few apps optimized for a tablet and are basically just phone apps with lots of wasted space. Being resolution independent is a nice idea to support multiple screen sizes and resolutions. In practice though the compromises are to the detriment of usability and taking advantage of screen real estate. The apple hardware/software approach works better in practice in controlling this, but I can appreciate the Android approach supporting multiple devices.
While an Apple fanboy I can appreciate out “separated brethren” in the Android-sphere. Hmm, maybe it is a time to update Umberto Eco essay on Windows is Protestant and the Mac is Catholic to iOS and Android.
